A former HSBC executive has launched a wealth platform built around ten AI agents, the South China Morning Post reports. The service, a2b2.ai, is aimed at “mass affluent” investors.

Why it matters

The agents are designed for separate jobs, including tracking when financial products mature, detecting potentially fraudulent transactions and flagging market movements that could affect a portfolio. It is a concrete example of AI agents being pitched for ongoing financial monitoring, rather than just answering questions on demand. But a launch description is not evidence that the agents reliably spot risks or improve investment decisions.

Discuss: Would you trust AI agents to monitor your investments, or should they be limited to flagging issues for a human adviser?
