AI models that inspect their own generated 3D scenes earlier tend to score better, according to an Artificial Analysis comparison of 19 models. The timing of the first visual check correlated more closely with Elo ratings than how often models checked.
Why it mattersThat makes the sequence of a model’s self-review a potentially useful clue to performance, not just the number of times it looks back. Correlation is not proof that earlier inspection causes better results, but it gives developers a specific behaviour to investigate.
Discuss: Should AI evaluations pay more attention to when a model checks its work, rather than simply how often?
