Companies setting up AI champion networks should decide what those champions are actually for, The AI Daily Brief argues. One company found its champions were more useful feeding practical use cases to a central team than trying to build solutions themselves.
Why it mattersThat distinction changes the job, and the training that goes with it. The briefing says goals, responsibilities and expectations should be agreed with IT and security, rather than leaving champions to improvise their own remit. A sensible reminder that an AI rollout needs people close to everyday work, not just another group of part-time builders. Should champions mainly surface useful problems, or should they also be expected to build the fixes?
