Ambi founder Mo Zihao argues that personal AI agents are held back by the effort of using them, not simply by how smart they are. He says users may spend anything from 30 seconds to several minutes setting up a request or repeating context, enough friction to make everyday tasks feel not worth the bother.

Why it matters

In an interview with Qu Kai on “42 Chapters”, Mo points to missing offline context and easy ways to interact as gaps for personal agents. He gives the example of someone driving who suddenly needs to change hotels, find a petrol station or compare repair prices. It’s a useful product test: can an agent help at the moment it’s needed, without making the user stop and brief it first? Mo’s comments are his view, as reported by BigGo Finance.

Discuss: Should personal agents prioritise being easier to reach, even if that means sharing more context across work and home?
