Zoom’s Neurig guitar pedal combines amp modelling with AI-powered tone generation and stem separation, according to Guitar.com. It also supports importing more than 700,000 Neural Amp Modeler captures, giving musicians a very large collection of amp and effects models to explore.
Why it mattersThe pedal includes 32 built-in amp heads and 139 effects, and can run up to 14 effects at once. Its AI features are available through Zoom’s SessionZ Pedal cloud service, the article says. It’s a notably ambitious bit of kit: less “one more stompbox”, more portable sound lab with a suspiciously large menu. The practical appeal will depend on how useful those AI tools are in a musician’s actual workflow.
Discuss: Would you trust AI to shape or separate parts of your sound, or is that a job best left to your own pedals and ears?
