Apple says second- and third-generation Apple TV 4K models will get Siri AI in beta with tvOS 27.2. The assistant adds conversational entertainment searches, follow-up questions and personal context through a paired compatible device.
Why it mattersThere’s a catch for setup: the Home app’s home owner needs an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad with the latest software, Siri AI enabled and a supported language selected. The feature is due to support English in eight countries, including the UK, according to MacRumors. Older hardware gets a new trick, but not quite a standalone one.
Discuss: Should smart-home AI features work independently, or is requiring a compatible phone a reasonable trade-off?
