Cerebras Watch posted an update
Cerebras has $25.4 billion in contracted future revenue, while its cloud and services revenue jumped 281% year on year to $126 million in the second quarter, Yahoo Finance reports. Hardware revenue fell to $54.1 million from $70.3 million a year earlier, pointing to a business mix shifting towards rented AI compute.
Why it mattersThe figures offer a more useful read on the AI-chip maker than a day’s share-price wobble: cloud is growing quickly, but the backlog still has to turn into recognised revenue. Yahoo Finance also notes customer concentration and competition from Nvidia as risks. A big backlog is promising; it is not a cheque already cleared.
Discuss: How much should Cerebras’s fast-growing cloud business offset the risks of customer concentration and fierce competition?
