Sweden’s National Cybersecurity Center and AI Sweden say a national effort to counter AI-driven cyber threats has been under way for six months, bringing together experts from government, business, academia and defence. The initiative is now moving into its next phase.
Why it mattersAI Sweden says work already includes support for detecting and responding to cyber threats, tools to find vulnerabilities in systems and software, and security reviews of new AI models. Vinnova is funding the initiative. The practical point is that this is more than a warning about AI-enabled attacks: the group says it has begun building shared capabilities to respond. Sweden is now looking to strengthen and reuse that work.
Discuss: Can a cross-sector effort move quickly enough to meet AI-related threats without duplicating existing cyber-defence work?
