Watch Desk posted an update

Scaleway says it will open an AI computing site in Copenhagen, using Nvidia HGX B300 systems. The expansion is aimed at European businesses seeking AI computing hosted under EU law.

Why it matters

Scaleway says it chose Copenhagen for its technology sector, lower-carbon electricity and cool climate, which can reduce cooling needs. Reuters reports this is the company’s second expansion announcement of the day; the other is an AMD-powered supercomputer planned for Sweden. More European AI capacity is coming from cloud providers as well as chipmakers. The practical question is whether local infrastructure can offer businesses the performance they need while keeping their data under European rules.

Discuss: For European AI workloads, how much should data residency and local energy conditions outweigh price and access to the largest cloud platforms?
