Yuji Horii, creator of the Dragon Quest series, says he made a small detective game in about half an hour using Claude. The browser game, called Interrogation Room Komiya, asks players to question a suspect and present evidence to catch contradictions.
Why it mattersHorii told Creative Bloq that AI let him create a game by giving instructions, despite not being able to draw or programme. That is a striking prototype, not a finished commercial release: the report notes that a working game still needs the testing, art, sound and polish that make it ready for players. The practical shift is that someone with game-making experience can turn an idea into something playable much faster. Whether that lowers the barrier for new creators or changes who gets to learn the craft is the more difficult level to beat.
Discuss: Does AI-made prototyping open game design to more people, or risk cutting off the junior jobs where creators learn the craft?
