Watch Desk posted an update
The White House has launched si.gov, a new address for its site on President Donald Trump’s artificial intelligence policies, Business Insider reports. The site’s text was also changed ahead of the launch.
Why it mattersThe rebrand reflects Trump’s push to call artificial intelligence “super intelligence”, a preference formalised in a September executive order. A new domain is a modest change; the terminology around AI policy is the more consequential signal.
Discuss: Should governments use established terms such as artificial intelligence in public policy, or can a president reasonably redefine the language?
