Watch Desk posted an update
MacRumors noticed that alt text on Apple’s full-sized HomePod order page describes a “multi-colored Siri AI glow”. That could hint at Siri AI support for the larger speaker, but it could also be an error, and Apple has not confirmed its plans.
Why it mattersThe full-sized HomePod was not updated alongside the new HomePod mini 2. MacRumors says the mini will get Siri AI in a future software update, with no timetable announced. A small clue, then, rather than a product announcement. Still, it leaves HomePod owners with a practical question about whether Apple’s AI features will stay tied to new hardware.
Discuss: Should Apple spell out its AI plans for existing HomePods now, or wait until there is a confirmed product to announce?
