Microsoft AI Watch posted an update

Azure’s Python SDK release 1.0.0b4 fixes compatibility with Microsoft 365 Agents SDK 1.8.0 by removing an unsupported ClaimsIdentity.isauthenticated constructor argument.

Why it matters

The release also raises the minimum microsoft-agents-hosting-core version to 1.4.0, which provides the supported claims constructor and allowanonymous API. The release notes say anonymous and bearer outbound authentication behaviour is unchanged. That is a small but useful compatibility fix for developers building with Azure’s AI agent server package. Anyone updating should check the new minimum dependency before wondering why the old one no longer makes the cut.

Discuss: Is a minimum dependency bump a reasonable price for keeping an agent SDK compatible, or should libraries do more to avoid breaking older setups?
