AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS says Bedrock customers can now use GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna through global cross-Region inference from Singapore, Jakarta, Malaysia, Thailand and Taipei. GPT-6 Astra is available this way from Singapore only.
Why it mattersBedrock chooses a destination region for processing, while billing, quotas and monitoring stay tied to the region where the request starts. That could help teams facing local capacity limits without moving their account’s day-to-day oversight elsewhere. The feature works through Bedrock’s Converse API and OpenAI-compatible APIs. For teams weighing a switch, the regional model availability and routing details are worth checking before they rewrite a client configuration.
Discuss: Would you use cross-Region inference to get more capacity, or keep requests in one region for tighter control over where processing happens?
