Atlassian is pitching a broader role for AI agents in workplace teams, alongside EU-only model processing and on-site engineering support for customers. The package pairs collaboration features with regional infrastructure and hands-on implementation, rather than asking businesses to welcome agents in and work out the rest later.

Why it matters

What happened Atlassian unveiled its Agentic Multiplayer Protocol at Team ’26 Europe in Amsterdam last week. In an interview with Diginomica, the company’s Head of Product for AI, Jamil Villiani, described it as part of a wider approach spanning governance, shared context and how people interact with agents. He said Atlassian had enriched its Teamwork Graph and added more robust connectors. He also described agent identities and inventories, with users able to see when agents are working in their space, not just inspect an audit trail afterwards.

Discuss: Should businesses prioritise AI agents that fit their existing teamwork, or insist on proven results before changing how teams work?
