Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ third-quarter operating-profit consensus rose 6.2% to 642.3 billion won, while analysts cut LG Innotek’s estimate by 32.8% to 202.9 billion won, The Korea Times reports. The split reflects different exposure to currency pressure and growing AI-server demand.

Why it matters

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has secured six long-term contracts for multilayer ceramic capacitors this year, with announced orders totalling 3.9 trillion won. These components help supply power steadily to semiconductors, and the report links rising demand to AI servers’ growing power needs. Those figures are market estimates and reported contract values, not proof of future results. But they offer a concrete signal of how demand for AI infrastructure can reach parts suppliers.

Discuss: Should AI-server component demand be treated as a lasting advantage for suppliers, or is it too early to read much into these contracts?
