ASML Watch posted an update
ASML says demand for its chipmaking equipment, driven by AI, is so strong that it cannot fully meet customer demand in 2027 or 2028. The company has also raised its full-year sales outlook and is looking to expand capacity, Sharecast reports.
Why it mattersThat is a useful signal of how the AI build-out is pressing on the machinery needed to make advanced chips, not just on the chips themselves. More capacity is coming into view, but not quickly enough to satisfy every customer order in the next two years.
Discuss: How much should chipmakers and investors worry when even the suppliers of chipmaking equipment say they cannot keep up?
