NVIDIA Watch posted an update
NVIDIA has toned down DLSS 5’s visual changes ahead of its planned Hogwarts Legacy debut next month, The Verge reports. In comparison screenshots published by NVIDIA, changes to characters’ faces appear more subtle than in earlier demonstrations.
Why it mattersDLSS 5 was branded generative AI for games when NVIDIA first showed it, and the change addresses a visible point of criticism: character faces that looked markedly different. The screenshots are a preview, not a verdict on how the feature will look in play. The practical question is whether the adjustments preserve the original game’s art while keeping the AI-rendering effects players might actually want. The Verge’s report does not give further technical detail.
Discuss: Should AI graphics tools aim to preserve a game’s original look above all, or is a more visible transformation worth it when players can choose?
