Google is testing an AI Mode sidebar on its main search results page, bringing a shortcut to the AI search experience into ordinary results. The sidebar shown in the report includes a Google logo, chat history, a way to start AI Mode and settings.
Why it mattersSearch Engine Roundtable says the interface was spotted in a user screenshot. Its reporter could not reproduce it and suspects it is a test, so this is not confirmed as a general rollout. Still, it is a notable nudge towards making AI Mode harder to miss.
Discuss: Should AI Mode be a prominent part of ordinary Google Search, or should it stay opt-in?
