AI video costs depend on more than the price per second: how many attempts it takes to get a usable clip, and whether your subscription credits can be used by a script, can change the bill substantially. Higgsfield’s comparison gives buyers a concrete way to weigh those trade-offs, including a worked example for 300 clips a month.
Why it mattersWhat happened Higgsfield’s pricing guide, published on 13 October, compares pay-per-second APIs with monthly credit plans across several video-generation providers. Its example workload is 300 usable eight-second clips at 720p, with two generations per finished clip: 600 generations and 4,800 seconds of output. At the listed rate of $0.084 per second, the guide calculates that Higgsfield’s Kling 3.0 API would cost $403.20 for that workload. A correctly rendered clip that is rejected as unsuitable is still charged; technical failures, by contrast, are refunded under the guide’s listed terms for the Higgsfield API.
Discuss: Should teams budget around the price of each generation, or the cost of getting a clip they can actually use?
