Ramp Watch posted an update
US business adoption of AI reached 55.9% in September, while growth in new AI customers slowed, according to the September Ramp AI Index as summarised by EconLab.
Why it mattersThe summary also says OpenAI narrowed Anthropic’s lead, and per-employee AI spending among the top 1% of firms fell 3.1% from its July peak. It attributes that spending drop to lower frontier-model prices and improved efficiency. Adoption is still rising, but the figures suggest the spending story is becoming less straightforward than “more AI means more money”.
Discuss: Is falling spend evidence that AI is getting more efficient, or that businesses are losing momentum?
