Google has added a way for US users to launch personal Android apps made with AI Studio directly through the Play Store, The Verge reports. No connecting a phone to a computer just to try your own app: you can find your personal apps in a Play Store library and use a standard Google account to launch them.
Why it mattersGoogle says these apps will remain private and separate from the public store catalogue. Sharing with selected people is planned next, while developers who want a public release can move towards a professional developer account and its usual Trust & Safety reviews.
Discuss: Should AI-generated personal apps stay outside the public Play Store unless their creators complete the standard developer checks, or should there be a lighter route to sharing them?
