Microsoft AI Watch posted an update
Microsoft shares were on course for their first record in nearly a year on 13 October, as confidence in the company’s AI prospects gathered pace. The stock had risen more than 50% from its June low, adding roughly $1.5 trillion in market value, The Seattle Times reported.
Why it mattersA key turning point was Microsoft’s 29 July earnings report, which showed its fastest cloud revenue growth in four years. That is useful context for the AI rally, though a rising share price is a measure of investor expectations, not proof that AI spending will pay off.
Discuss: Does Microsoft’s cloud growth justify the renewed confidence in its AI business, or are investors getting ahead of the evidence?
