Zenzap has raised $44 million to grow its AI-powered workplace messaging app, which is pitching itself to businesses that rely on consumer chat tools to coordinate staff. Its mix of messaging, task management and AI features aims to bring work conversations and their follow-up into one place, rather than leaving teams to stitch them together across personal apps.

Why it matters

What happened The funding comes from Bessemer, Lightspeed, The Garage and individual investors, TechCrunch reports. Zenzap offers a free tier with group and direct messages, task and calendar tools, and AI-powered voice chat and search. Paid plans start at $51 a month for up to 20 users, unlocking features including voice and video calls, task sorting and templates, more file storage, and AI search across the workspace.

Discuss: Would you trust an AI agent with your workplace conversations if the messaging app also promised to keep work separate from personal life?
