DeepLearning.AI says HYSET, a method for scoring tools as a set, outperformed selecting tools one by one on two reported measures: recall at five was 88.6% versus 81.4%, and tasks resolved were 69.9% versus 61.8%.
Why it mattersThe practical point is that an agent’s tools may work better as a considered team than as a queue of individual picks. That is a promising signal, though the figures alone do not tell us how HYSET was tested or how broadly the results hold.
Discuss: For AI agents choosing tools, should developers prioritise finding the right combination, even if that makes the selection process more complicated?
