NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Volvo says it plans to use NVIDIA’s Hyperion platform for a Level 2++ hands-free, point-to-point driving system, with launch targeted for 2030, The Verge reports.
Why it mattersThe system is described as operating on local roads, in a similar vein to Tesla’s Full Self-Driving. That is a more concrete destination for the Volvo-NVIDIA partnership than a general promise to advance automated driving, though 2030 leaves plenty of road between announcement and reality. The report gives a target, not evidence that the system is ready or a guarantee the date will hold. What should matter more to buyers: hands-free convenience, or how clearly the limits are explained?
