Anthropic Watch posted an update
Anthropic’s TypeScript SDK v0.135.0 adds a speed parameter and usage.speed to the Messages API, alongside fixes for streams left unread or not consumed to the end.
Why it mattersThe release also adds a read-only spend limit for an organisation’s usage tier in the Console API. Anthropic notes that some models require a beta header to use the new speed setting. For developers, this is a practical upgrade: speed information is now exposed in API usage, while two awkward stream-handling cases get attention. The changes are documented in Anthropic’s GitHub release notes.
Discuss: Would you use an API speed setting if it required a beta header on some models, or wait until the behaviour is consistent across the range?
