Kid Rock used the AI music tool Suno to create choir and orchestra parts for his forthcoming album, according to Whiskey Riff’s account of an interview with Billboard. He said he sees AI as another tool, while acknowledging it could become “a huge problem”.
Why it mattersThe distinction matters: the report describes AI-generated segments, not an album written entirely by AI. It says Kid Rock recorded most of the record with studio musicians. Artists are already arguing over where assistance ends and replacement begins.
Discuss: Is using AI for backing parts a reasonable studio choice, or does it cross a line even when the artist writes the song?
