TSMC Watch posted an update
TSMC has completed construction of its second Arizona factory, with chipmaking equipment now being installed, SiliconANGLE reports. The company expects the plant to begin mass production in the third quarter of 2027.
Why it mattersThe fab is part of TSMC’s planned $265 billion US investment. The report also says TSMC plans to significantly increase capital spending over the next two years as it expands production capacity, including for advanced chip processes used in AI computing. A finished building is a milestone; production is the harder test.
