US stocks finished higher on Thursday as pressure on AI shares eased after a bruising week for technology stocks. The Nasdaq rose 0.1 per cent, while the S&P 500 gained 0.3 per cent and the Dow climbed 1.1 per cent, RTHK reports.
Why it mattersCoreWeave rose 6 per cent after Nvidia chief Jensen Huang voiced optimism about the data-centre operator. Huang told Bloomberg that CoreWeave’s strength was improving and its cost of capital was decreasing, according to Yahoo Finance. That is a bounce, not a clean bill of health: AI-linked shares had been caught in wider market nerves over inflation and the scale of investment in data centres.
Discuss: Is this recovery a sign investors still back the AI build-out, or just a pause before they start asking harder questions about who is paying for it?
