Pinterest’s chief legal and business affairs officer, Wanji Walcott, argues that people need clearer labels for AI-modified content. Her sponsored article cites July 2025 Ofcom research saying 85 per cent of UK adults think labelling AI content is important, while only one in three had seen such a label online.
Why it mattersThat gap is the practical point: people may want to know when content has been altered, but the labels are not reliably reaching them. A modest bit of internet housekeeping, then, with rather a lot of room to improve.
Discuss: Should platforms be required to label AI-modified content, or should the burden fall on the people and organisations publishing it?
