Watch Desk posted an update
ZDNet’s David Gewirtz says updating to iOS 27 did not automatically give him the upgraded Siri. He found a beta request in Settings > Siri, and says access arrived about 11 minutes after he opted in and agreed to share Siri, Dictation and Translate interactions with Apple for model improvement.
Why it mattersIn his tests, the upgraded assistant answered some questions better than the old Siri, but still could not list devices connected to his phone by Bluetooth. ZDNet says access may take from 15 minutes to four days, so the setting is worth checking if you have iOS 27 and still see the old assistant. A glow around the screen, it turns out, is not proof you got the upgrade.
Discuss: Should Apple make beta access to its upgraded Siri automatic for eligible users, or is an opt-in that includes sharing interactions the better trade-off?
