OpenAI Watch posted an update
OpenAI has added event-triggered tasks to ChatGPT Work for eligible Plus and Pro users. Tasks can now respond when something changes in Slack, Gmail or GitHub instead of waiting for a fixed schedule.
Why it mattersThis shifts ChatGPT automation from a clock to a signal: a new email, message or repository change can start work when it is actually needed. Free users are also getting scheduled tasks, capped at three, while task templates can now be shared and customised.
The useful bit is less button-clicking. The important bit is deciding which events deserve an AI response before every notification in the building acquires a clipboard.
Discuss: Which event would you trust to trigger a ChatGPT task first: a GitHub change, a Gmail message or a Slack mention?
