AI agents can be steered by malicious instructions hidden in documents, web pages or tool responses. A Hugging Face community article by Manoj Yadav argues that the fix is to keep the model’s reasoning separate from the checks that authorise and execute actions.

Why it matters

The guide recommends a deterministic tool gateway that checks whether an operation is allowed, and giving each agent only the permissions needed for its task. A report-writing agent, for example, should not automatically get permission to delete records or export a customer database. That is useful advice for anyone connecting an AI agent to real systems: a convincing answer is not the same thing as an authorised action. The article is a practitioner guide, not evidence that any particular safeguard is foolproof.

Discuss: Should organisations put permission checks in a separate gateway, or can the model itself be trusted to respect the rules?
