SAP Watch posted an update
SAP’s S.Public experience centre in Berlin opened on 12 October, showcasing how AI could support public-sector work. Its examples include checking funding applications for missing or inconsistent information and helping officials prioritise port inspections using data on vessels, terminals and inspection capacity.
Why it mattersSAP says AI can provide an explained recommendation on a funding application, but the public authority keeps the final decision. The demos make this a concrete look at AI embedded in administrative processes, rather than another chatbot being asked to sound helpful.
Discuss: Should AI recommendations in public services be used mainly to speed up decisions, or should authorities have to explain when they rely on them?
