Anthropic Watch posted an update
Some investors in Anthropic and potential IPO buyers are reportedly discussing a valuation of about $1.5 trillion, below the roughly $2 trillion previously floated for a possible November share sale. The reported discussions followed Anthropic’s latest financial disclosures at an investor meeting in San Francisco.
Why it mattersReuters, in a report carried by Yahoo Finance UK, says Anthropic told prospective investors its third-quarter revenue rose 45% to $16.8 billion from the previous quarter, and that it was profitable on an adjusted basis. Some investors were said to be disappointed by the slower sequential growth. That puts the valuation talk in context, but it remains reported investor discussion, not an agreed IPO price. “Trillion” is still doing an impressive amount of work in this sentence.
Discuss: Should IPO investors focus more on Anthropic’s reported revenue growth and adjusted profit, or on the slowdown in its quarter-to-quarter growth?
