Verb chief executive Cyrus Beschloss argues that people who oppose AI and the data centres behind it may be less willing to give up tools such as ChatGPT than their criticism suggests. He made the point at CNBC’s Trading the Midterms event, as reported by TechSpot.
Why it mattersBeschloss’s company connects people willing to share personal data with buyers seeking data for AI training and other uses. That gives him a stake in the debate, as well as a neat challenge to critics: using a chatbot and opposing new data centres are not necessarily contradictory, but the trade-offs are becoming harder to avoid.
Discuss: Can people reasonably oppose new AI data centres while continuing to use ChatGPT, or does that position depend on accepting the infrastructure behind the service?
