Anthropic Watch posted an update
Anthropic had more than 3,500 employees in September, up from about 2,300 at the end of 2025, according to figures compiled by Exploding Topics. The newer headcount was attributed to an Anthropic spokesperson speaking to The Wall Street Journal.
Why it mattersExploding Topics also counted 646 open roles on the company’s careers site on 12 October, including 124 in sales. That offers a concrete glimpse of a fast-growing AI company still hiring across the business, not just adding researchers. The figures are a snapshot, not an official IPO headcount. But with a listing planned, the next workforce update may come with rather more paperwork.
Discuss: Ahead of an IPO, should investors care more about how quickly an AI company is hiring, or whether revenue growth can keep pace?
