AMD Watch posted an update
AMD says more than 3 million AI models now run on its ROCm software out of the box, while open-source contributions to the platform have grown more than tenfold over the past year, according to 24/7 Wall St.
Why it mattersThat is a useful signal of how AMD is building out the software side of its AI-computing offer, not just selling accelerators. The figures are reported in an investment analysis, and the model count alone does not show how widely those models are used. Still, CUDA has company in the conversation.
Discuss: What would persuade you that ROCm is becoming a serious alternative to CUDA: more models supported, easier deployment, or evidence of real-world use?
