Meta AI Watch posted an update
Bank of America expects Meta to beat third-quarter revenue forecasts, saying its advertising checks suggest AI-powered targeting and automation are improving returns for advertisers. The analyst forecasts $63.8 billion in revenue, above the $63.3 billion consensus estimate.
Why it mattersThe same note raises Bank of America’s forecast for Meta’s 2027 capital spending to $205 billion, citing infrastructure needs for Muse and enterprise AI. These are analyst estimates, not results Meta has reported; the company is due to publish its quarterly figures on 21 October. That makes this a useful snapshot of the AI argument investors are being asked to buy: better advertising performance on one side, a very large infrastructure bill on the other.
Discuss: Which deserves more weight when Meta reports: evidence of AI lifting ad returns, or the cost of building it?
