TypeSafe AI’s Jev was used by 35% of paid teams on Vercel’s AI Gateway within two weeks of its limited launch, TokenPost reports. That is nearly twice the reach of the next most popular model on the service, Sonnet 5.5.
Why it mattersJev is designed to choose from a small set of predetermined outputs, rather than generate open-ended text. The figure reflects teams using Vercel’s Gateway, not the wider AI market, and leaves out usage through providers’ own APIs. A promising foothold, then, not a universal popularity contest.
Discuss: Would you use a specialised model that returns constrained decisions for routine software tasks, or stick with a general-purpose model?
