TSMC Watch posted an update
Analysts cited by Benzinga expect TSMC’s fourth-quarter capital spending to exceed $21bn, after the company maintained its full-year capex guidance. They also say management sees room for AI accelerator revenue growth to beat its existing mid-to-high-50s annual growth outlook for 2024 to 2029.
Why it mattersThat is analysts’ reading of the company’s outlook, not a new TSMC forecast. Still, it points to the scale of investment chipmakers may need to keep AI hardware flowing. In semiconductors, “demand is strong” eventually arrives with a rather large invoice.
Discuss: Should TSMC keep expanding capacity aggressively for AI demand, or is the risk of overbuilding now too high?
