Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark says he believes the singularity has begun. He is due to speak at the IMF about that view and the choices it raises, a sharper claim than his earlier argument that AI is bringing “massive, sudden change”.

It is a forecast and a framing, not evidence that a singularity is underway. But Clark’s stated belief makes the question more concrete: what would count as the start, and what choices follow?
