Kazakhstan and Cambodia have signed a memorandum covering cooperation in artificial intelligence and digital development, alongside a separate agreement on digital government and information technology. The documents were exchanged during talks between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister Hun Manet in Astana on 17 October, The Astana Times reports, citing the Kazakh presidency.
Why it mattersThe agreement puts AI on the bilateral agenda, but the report names no specific project, funding or timetable. For now, it is a formal opening for cooperation, not a joint AI programme ready to roll.
Discuss: What would make this agreement meaningful: a funded joint AI project, shared digital-government work, or measurable progress on both?
