Synaptics and Google Research have previewed an edge-AI microcontroller featuring Google’s Coral neural engine, The Inference reports. It adds an AI-focused product to the picture as onsemi pursues Synaptics at a fixed cash price of $123 a share.
Why it mattersThe report says the preview came 13 days after the price was set. It presents the chip as added value for Synaptics’ roadmap, though a preview is not a shipping product, and the report gives no further specifications here.
