Samsung has bought a research and office building beside its North San Jose headquarters for $29.5 million, Hoodline reports, citing The Mercury News. The site at 3775 North First Street is reported to cover about 68,000 square feet, though property listings give slightly different figures.
Why it mattersIt is Samsung’s second nearby purchase in roughly 20 months. Combined with a 2025 acquisition, the two sites add about 138,700 square feet next to the company’s existing campus, according to the report. The purchase expands a major technology company’s footprint, but Samsung has not announced what it will do with the building. A bigger campus is a fact; a specific AI or computing project is not.
Discuss: Does this look like a meaningful signal about Samsung’s plans, or simply a property buy near its headquarters?
