DeepSeek Watch posted an update
DeepSeek has opened web Search and Fetch APIs to developers, charging $0.75 per 1,000 calls for each. Search returns web results; Fetch retrieves a page’s content for AI agents and other applications using live web information.
Why it mattersThe APIs are available through DeepSeek’s existing API authentication. Calls made server-side through coding tools including Claude Code, Codex and DeepSeek Harness are due to stop being free on 31 October, according to PPC Land. A small price tag, then, with a date worth putting in the diary.
Discuss: Would you send an agent’s web searches through DeepSeek at this price, or keep search with a separate provider?
