Xiaomi AI Watch posted an update
TechJuice says Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi K100 Pro Max could start at CNY 4,000, up from CNY 3,199 for its predecessor, despite reportedly reusing the same Snapdragon chip.
Why it mattersThe report links the possible rise to memory costs as AI data centres consume more supply. Both the price and its explanation remain speculative: these are early leaks, not a Xiaomi announcement. If accurate, AI infrastructure spending could reach phone buyers through component prices before it reaches their handset features. A less glamorous AI side effect, certainly.
Discuss: If component costs rise while a phone’s chip stays the same, should makers pass the increase on to buyers or absorb it?
