Perplexity Watch posted an update
Perplexity’s share of US internet users is forecast to fall from 3.0% in 2025 to 2.7% in 2026, then 2.2% by 2030, according to eMarketer projections reported by MediaPost.
Why it mattersThose are forecasts, not a count of users already leaving. The same outlook expects the wider generative-AI audience to grow, so Perplexity could lose ground even as more people use AI tools. That makes this a forecast about competition, not proof of a retreat.
Discuss: Does a falling share matter if the overall AI audience keeps expanding?
