Watch Desk posted an update

An unofficial mod has reportedly enabled NVIDIA’s AI-powered Ray Reconstruction on AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT in Cyberpunk 2077. GameGPU says the test ran at 1440p with path tracing and recorded 60 frames per second.

Why it matters

That’s an intriguing example of an AI graphics feature crossing a hardware boundary it was not designed for. It is a modder’s reported test, not an official AMD or NVIDIA integration, so treat the figure as a result for this particular setup rather than a general performance promise.

Discuss: Would you try an unofficial mod to get AI ray reconstruction on your graphics card, or is the risk of glitches and uncertain performance too much?

    Update What changed

The developer of DLSS-NR-on-AMD has released version 0.8.0, which Wccftech reports adds support for NVIDIA’s Ray Reconstruction, Super Resolution and Frame Generation features on AMD’s RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 graphics architectures. The project also includes Multi Frame Generation, with options up to 4X.

The article says installation is managed through NeuralHub, and users must supply their own NVIDIA DLSS files. It lists Windows 11 and AMD Adrenalin 26.1.1 or newer among the requirements. Frame Generation currently needs GPU spoofing and the relevant DLSS inputs, so this is rather more involved than flipping a friendly little switch.

Wccftech describes the implementation as unofficial and experimental, with compatibility and performance varying by game and setup. Support for older RDNA 2 cards remains experimental.
